Revita Hair Growth Shampoo Review
From its unique packaging, bright colors and in-depth product information booklet, you know Revita Hair Growth Shampoo is different.
Coming on to the hair products scene strongly in the past 18 months, Revita has made a name for itself and captured a committed following – and measurable market share in the hair growth/hair loss business.
Primary ingredients are botanical based and are well known by themselves for stimulating growth and helping to promote healthier growing hair, follicle strength and improved scalp condition.
Biotin, copper peptides, cysteine, emu oil and ketoconazole are all combined for “anti-dht action” that offers stimulation to the scalp as well as blocking conversion of DHT.
The goal, effectively is to stop hair loss. So, how well does it work?
For the past month several of our staff who have used similar hair loss products report in the appearance of new growth on the scalp.
Our un-scientific testing required use once per day for a one month period. This is not to say however, that Revita is a cure-all for hair loss or in fact it is superior to other thinning and loss shampoos.
Clinical studies cited by DS Laboratories (the manufacturer) note blind studies showing ingredients used in Revita:
- Increase in total hairs
- 78.9% show an increase in the mean diameter of hairs
- Significant increase in the total number of hairs
- Intensive hair follicle activation
- Ration of thickness of terminal hairs was significantly higher
Revita combines costly first line compounds at high concentrations like caffeine at 4%, pyrus malus (apple) seed extract at 1% and spin traps (sod mimic) AT 0.1% with other top level ingredients which make Revita a unique product in its class. Revita Product Information Booklet
Though our testing is clearly neither clinical nor as intense, test subjects report a decisive thickening of the follicles as well as an impression that thinning had slowed. Longer-term testing would be required on subjects with male pattern balding with blind placebo testing to draw more decisive conclusions.
What we can tell you is that we like the product. It has a pleasing citrus-like fragrance and an easy to use cap and application – though I personally believe the cap mechanism could be strengthened or re-engineered – just seems a little “flimsy”
Compared to similar products such as Awaken and Replenish, it contains many similar ingredients and many that perform the same functions, though much more costly. Revita MSRP is $39 though can be found around $33. Awaken and Replenish sells for $19 and can be found around $14.
Overall, we rate Revita Hair Growth Shampoo a 9 out of 10. It is thoroughly researched with substantial clinical studies of ingredients to support its claims and effectiveness. It is an attractive, unique product, and our initial testing indicates it lives up to its claim of being an effective hair loss and regrowth shampoo.
